First, I hate talking about myself. It's embarrassing however, I felt some shameless self promotion couldn't
hurt when you're looking to work with new businesses. So,here goes...
I began my career as a freelance designer right out of college. After paying dues and proving I had
what it takes, I landed the creative director job with a couple of large advertising agencies. Next,
I worked for a boat builder as their creative/marketing director before finally
striking out on my own.
I can't believe it's been twenty years since I opened Porter Design.
In that time we have worked with
several fortune 500 companies as well as some medium/small companies that had the foresight of
hiring a creative firm to design an image that would sell. Some of those small companies
are now
large companies.
One goal I had when I embarked on a career as a graphic designer was to strive to be the best. I wanted
to learn every avenue offered to me as a designer in order to give my clients what they wanted and needed.
Now, my career has come full circle. I have scaled back Porter Design and I find myself as a freelance designer
again. This doesn't mean my creative talent has diminished in fact, I feel scaling back has taken a lot of stress
off my shoulders and I now can concentrate on what I do best...create!
After almost 25 years in the creative and advertising industry, I bring
this experience to you. I have a great work
ethic, I am competitively priced, and I know what the heck I am doing.
So much for being shameless!
